Welcome to the Area 48 meeting finder
To Edit or add your meeting, traditional or Online, contact your District Records Keeper, or use the Meeting Change Form link at the bottom of this page. The webmaster is unable to make changes.
Notes on how to use:
Next to the search box there is magnifying glass with a drop down where you can choose “near location” to search by city, zip code or exact addresss or “near me” and the site will attempt to locate you. If you just choose “Search” the default, it will search by group name. If your search does not have any results, check the options and make sure it’s set to the correct day of the week.
There is a dropdown that will allow you to select a district or a county. If you do not want to search by district or county, please type a specific city or zip code into the search box or use the location detector.
If you need to update information about a meeting, please contact your district records keeper or attend your district meeting.

Safe Practices Meeting Key
Many groups continue to meet virtually, some have gone back to meeting in person and still others have adopted a hybrid style that incorporates both the virtual and face-to-face platforms.
Each group is autonomous, making their own decisions regarding safe meeting practices. Area 48 does not endorse any particular practice, we offer only a list of when, where and how each group chooses to meet. We have provided a Safe Reopenings Document that outlines many topics and questions groups can consider that may assist in their endeavor to reopen.
Currently, wearing masks that cover the nose and mouth as well as practicing 6’ social distancing is mandated by NYS and therefore, Area 48 does NOT endorse this as a group conscience decision. As members of AA, we are not above the law.
Groups that are now meeting face-to-face are encouraged to share any additional safe practices they have adopted to help ensure the safety of their members. This data may be reflected in the meeting notes so that each individual member can make their own decisions about what meetings they feel comfortable attending.
Use the following key code to decipher what these additional approaches each group may be using to ensure the safety of their attending members.
BYOB – Bring your own book
BYOC – Bring your own coffee (or other refreshments)
CT – Contact tracing is implemented
HS – Hand sanitizer available
OUT – Outdoor meeting (generally means bring your own chair and refreshments)
Groups that are adopting a hybrid style, incorporating both face-to-face and virtual will appear as an online meeting with an open location (address not crossed out).
Ultimately, every individual is responsible for making their own safe decisions about attending meetings. We provide this only as an aid in making that decision.
